Two Eagles Teams Earn LLFHL Championship Medals

Congratulations to the Ennismore Eagles Atom C and Peewee B teams for bringing home medals from the Lower Lakes Hockey League Championship this past weekend.

The Young Aggregates Atom team competed in the gold medal game against Toronto Leaside Wildcats on Saturday and lost in a close game 1-0 to earn Silver medals.

The J. Byrne Property Professionals Peewee B Team won the Bronze medal in a nail-biting game against Whitby Wolves on Sunday. Whitby scored early in the 1st period and the score remained 1-0 until only 40 seconds remained in the 3rd. Logan Longfield scored after the Eagles pulled their goalie Kaitlin Cavanagh. An intense five minute overtime ended with no goals scored which lead to a shoot out. Kaitlyn continued to remain strong in net after stopping 6 shooters from Whitby. Emily Arkell, the 6th shooter for the Eagles, deaked the goalie to score her first goal in her two years of playing hockey.

Also earning a spot to compete in the LLFHL championship tournament this past weekend were Flannigan's Butcher Shop Peewee C and Midget C teams.

Both the Atom C and Peewee B teams will compete in the Provincials tournament along with the Ennismore Eagles Midget BB team. Good luck! Go Eagles Go!
